We warmly welcome children into our Sunday morning services; the first part of the service is lively and focused on our children and young people. Following that the children leave to join their Junior Church groups and any child is welcome to join the group relevant to their age.
What will you be doing there?
A wide variety from prayer and fellowship to music, drama, craft activities, games, cooking and debating all with an emphasis on Christian teaching. Junior Church groups regularly contribute to the Sunday Services with prayers, sketches etc. and take the major part in the Nativity Service. Occasionally a whole Sunday morning is set aside for an all-age children and young people's Theme Day.
How are the Junior Church groups run?
Each of the Junior Church groups is run by a team of volunteer leaders and helpers who all hold up-to-date CRB checks. There are also opportunities for young people to help in the groups with supervision, often working towards the service section of Duke of Edinburgh awards.
Which group should I be in?
Crèche – for babies aged newborn to 2 years (available from 9.55am)
JAM – for pre-schoolers aged 2-4
Explorers – for reception and Years 1-2 children
Vines – for Years 3 and 4
Harmony – for Years 5 and 6
FROGS - for Years 7 to 10. The sessions start with a mini (& sometimes full!) breakfast. They enjoy a wide-ranging programme to cover all types of interests, and have occasional social events.
CATS - for Years 11 to 13. An informal discussion group that meets to talk about current affairs with a Christian viewpoint.
